Hi Norma - certain poses, such as Eagle and Tree Pose, help you learn concentration techniques, because you need to center yourself and focus on one point to do them. Regular yoga practice helps many people relieve stress and, in turn, that will help your ability to concentrate.

Try meditation, too. Even 10 minutes every morning will help you empty a cluttered mind and refresh you for the day. Read our Guided Meditation article for tips on how to start. Good luck!

Michelle, if you are just starting yoga, try the DVD http://www.amazon.com/P-M-Beginners-Awaken-Stretch-Relax/dp/B00007JME6 AM and PM Yoga for Beginners, featuring Rodney Yee and Patricia Walden. It is a great introduction to the practice, and one that you'll learn easily. Have fun!

I really think that yoga helps the mind body and soul to regain its strength and to become more powerful in its own ways. I am going to try a few movements here and there and if i like i i will pick it up from there.

Yoga offers many benefits. Remember that yoga is -not- a religion. However, regular practice enhances your body/mind/spirit connection.

Respecting the body and trying to make it the best it can be is, in a way, a form of respecting individual faith beliefs. So if you'd like practice yoga for exercise, you're on the right track. it is good as excersise for not for spiritual thing .i dont belive spirituality.only one truth jesus. i want for excersise use yoga .
