What You’ll Find in the Yoga Pose Gallery
We are constantly searching for images that feature the numerous asanas. Regardless of your chosen yoga discipline, be it Hatha yoga or Bikram, Kundalini or Dahn, or any of the many other forms, you’ll find variations of the foundational postures flow through most sequences.
Each pose article in the yoga pose gallery will provide:
- A brief explanation of the Sanskrit name.
- A bit of history as to what the asana represents.
- One or two pictures of the pose.
- Step-by-step instructions to perform the posture.
- Guidelines for different levels of experience.
- Cautions of the pose.
Articles in the yoga pose gallery offer variations of the poses as well, such as the three movements of virabhadrasana, or Warrior pose; explain the stages by which you can ascend into a particular posture, such as bakasana, also known as Crane or Crow pose; and pay particular attention to helping beginners attain a full level of understanding of the posture and avoid injury.
LoveToKnow Yoga strives to provide the very best imagery for the postures so that you can see the proper posture. We also clarify when something is a modified version so that as an individual’s flexibility increases, he or she can learn of an alternative to the primary posture that respects the body’s range of motion at that time.
