Bikram Yoga Boston

Bikram Yoga Boston’s main location is 108 Lincoln St., Loft 1A, and their phone number is (617) 556-9926. Their Harvard Square location is 30 JFK St., 2nd floor, Cambridge. Bikram Yoga Boston is dedicated to helping their students get fit and strong while discovering new levels of energy. In addition to yoga classes, they also offer massage and acupuncture.

Bikram Yoga Boston offers 90-minute classes in Bikram yoga. The first class of the day begins at 6 a.m. and the last class of the day begins at 7:45 p.m. Bikram Yoga Boston has nine teachers, both male and female.

B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Center

The B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Center is located at 35 Chester St. in Arlington, and their phone number is (781) 648-3455. The center was co-founded by Patricia Walden and Karin Stephan. Walden is the premier yoga DVD and video instructor, and Stephan is founder of Yoga Macrobiotic Vacations. Walden has studied with Iyengar for more than 25 years, and opened this center in 1985 to share the teachings of the man noted for introducing Hatha yoga to the Western world.

The B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Center offers classes seven days a week for all levels, as well as special workshops and teaching certification. The first class of the day begins at 5:30 a.m. and the last class begins at 6 p.m. The number of teachers vary per program. Walden teaches frequently and allows walk-ins if space permits.

Five Points Yoga

Five Points Yoga is owned by Barrett Lauck. who teaches at multiple locations. To find classes, check his calendar or call (617) 331-2386.

Five Points Yoga offers Vinyasa and prenatal yoga as well as private classes. The first class of the day begins at 7 a.m. and the last class of the day begins at 5:45 p.m. Barrett Lauck is the only teacher.

Back Bay Yoga Studio

Back Bay Yoga Studio is located at 1112 Bolyston St. on the 3rd floor, and their phone number is (617) 375-0785.

Back Bay Yoga Studio offers Ashtanga, Forrest, Vinyasa, Restorative, Yin, and gentle yoga, as well as meditation, acupuncture, and massage. They also offer private lessons. The first class of the day begins at 6 a.m. and the last class of the day begins at 7:30 p.m. The studio has fifteen teachers, both male and female.

The Yoga Studio

The Yoga Studio is located at The Charles River Institute, 585 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square, in Cambridge, and their phone number is (617) 566-1489. The Yoga Studio was founded in 1980 and is the oldest school in the Boston area.

The Yoga Studio teaches Iyengar, Vinyasa, and Viniyoga. They also offer classes in meditation. The first class of the day begins at 9:30 a.m. and the last class of the day begins at 5:30 p.m. They have seven teachers, all female.

Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga

Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga is located at 139 Columbus Ave., and their phone number is 800-936-YOGA. According to their Web site, “Baptiste Vinyasa is a challenging and flowing form of yoga that heals, detoxifies, and electrifies the body and mind at their deepest level.”

Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga offers basic and intermediate 90-minute classes, as well as an “Hour of Power.” They also offer private instruction. The first class of the day begins at 6:30 a.m. and the last class of the day begins at 7:30 p.m. They have thirteen teachers, both male and female.

Starting Yoga

As you can see, Boston is not lacking for yoga studios. Depending on the type of yoga you wish to practice, your location, and schedule, you should be able to find a yoga studio for you.

Hi. This is a great resource. I live in Boston and publish a magazine called misstropolis - www.misstropolis.com. We have a lot of articles on yoga & collaborate with a number of studios. Besides the ones mentioned here, Prana Yoga in Newton and Cambridge is great as is The Yoga Spot in Wellesley. Exhale in Boston and the Sports Club LA also have great yoga classes.
